Sharing my absolute favorite snack, the Broinha (cornmeal and cassava flour sweet puffs). It goes perfectly with coffee or hot chocolate and reminds me of our Jin's bread cheekies

i realized i rarely take pictures of what i cook and eat, but i'll talk about one of my favorite food in the world.
it's mafe - basically peanut stew with rice. it originates from Mali, i'm of malian descent hhh.
you can cook it with or without meat (chicken or beef most of the time but some people use fish too) and with or without vegetables. it's very easy to cook !
as for the recipe, i found this one to be the most accurate for chicken and beef ! i cook it slightly differently though, so if you're interested how, you can still hmu, i'll take time to explain, because i don't think i'll be clear if i start to explain right now in this chan. but this recipe is still very good to start!

For the potluck I'm bringing tomato mozzarella salad and edible cookie dough. Something savoury and something sweet!
The salad is made of cherry tomatoes and mini mozzarella balls that I simply cut in half. Then I mix them together in a bowl and add some yoghurt dressing, balsamic vinegar and dried basil.
For the edible cookie dough I mix flour, butter and brown sugar with a bit of vanilla flavour, a few spoons of liquid cream and dark chocolate drops.
Guten Appetit!

This is a picture of 豆花 which is a super soft tofu (translates to “tofu flower”) topped with things like tapioca, peanuts, syrup, etc. It’s a pretty common Taiwanese snack/dessert. I didn’t make this, but it was tasty

Happy Jin Day!!! Here is a picture of my favorite dish - Rajma. It's an Indian dish. I love quite a lot of dishes from different cuisines, but Rajma (kidney beans) is comfort food for me. I always come back to it. I have some of the best memories with this food, because my mom cooks it amazingly well and she always cooks it for me whenever I go back home. I recently cooked Rajma because I was feeling homesick

and finally this isn't something i've ever baked myself but since we're closing up on christmas i feel the need to bring it up. i know most people visit spain during the summer so that they can enjoy the good weather and beaches and parties etc etc, but actually i want to recommend everyone the christmas sweets (turrón, mazapán, just to give some names lol) bc really it's one of my favorite things of this season, we start buying them in late november and stay stocked well into february sjdfshd the most traditional ones are usually made with almond or other nuts, honey, egg, and loads of sugar; here's just a google pic of a small assortment

these are called pupusas! they come from my family's country of el salvador. they can either be made with pork, cheese, beans, or a combination of those ingredients (i've even seen people make it with shrimp and vegetarian-style). trust me when i say that these are DELICIOUS especially with the salad(called curtido) and sauce.

I make these every year with my mom around the holidays and the tradition stems from the fact that my mom lived in ohio for awhile when she was younger and so making these reminds her of her childhood (and also they are delicious) (“real” buckeyes are a type of nut and the treats are made to look like them!). they’re sooo good, basically peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate so think reeses but better (there’s powdered sugar in the dough). they’re pretty easy to make but require a liiitle patience because you have to chill the dough, then roll them into small balls, and then go and dip them into chocolate. super yummy and highly recommend

Omg!!!! Buckeyes are our Christmas tradition in our family toooo!!! My grandma lived in Ohio for a bit so she brought it over to Iowa when she moved back. But I learned a lot of other Iowans make these without ohio background

I don't have any personal photos on me but my favorite comfort foods is spicy congee with a dash of soy sauce with either seafood or mushroom & chopped scallions specifically using either Chiu Chow Chili Oil or Su Spicy Chili Crisp sauce. I love congee. Plain congee with just soy sauce works. It's amazing how colorful and vibrant you can make a plain congee look with a little creativity and random ingredients in the pantry.

Ladoos are round sweet balls which are rolled by hands. The motichur ladoos are most popular and are the best-known variety of ladoos. This motichur ladoo has a bright orange color, and most of the time they are in high demand during the ten days celebration of Ganpati. Its still the 4th here!!! So for Jin's birthday we decided to make a Korean dish!! Army stew (Budae jjigae) because peep the ramen too my husband made everything tbh so shout out to shrekington because it was 10/10 jasmine rice on the side was Thanks Jin for always being as comforting as this comfort meal was

it’s still the 4th here and i couldn’t get anything specifically for jin’s birthday, so here’s a photo of a time i got milk tea with my sister! i love milk tea/boba and i get it pretty often :D

I wish I could share the cookies that I made but my family ate them all lol. But any every year when it’s the week of Jin’s birthday I usually make cookies to celebrate (and for the holidays too ) . I always eat cookies with some strawberries (hopefully that came from Jin’s uncle’s farm, jk jk) anyway i love baking! I also have a photo card of him bc why not
